Wyse enters his seventh season in 2025 as associate head coach on Jim McElderry's staff at Rutgers after spending nine seasons with McElderry on the Fordham staff helping the Rams to three NCAA Tournament appearances as well as two Atlantic 10 championship titles. He was named one of the country's top assistants by College Soccer News in 2017.
In 2024, Wyse helped lead the Scarlet Knights in an exciting campaign, picking up two top-10 wins for just the second time in program history, over No. 8 Wisconsin (3-1) and No. 10 Maryland (3-1). Joey Zalinsky (37th overall) and Nick Collins (85th overall) were chosen in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, continuing a long line for professional success for the program. Curt Calov, who was named to the All-Big Ten second team, was also signed to a professional contract after the draft with Minnesota United FC.
In the fall of 2023, Wyse helped McElderry lead the team to a 5-8-3 record, picking up three Big Ten wins along the way. The slate was highlighted by a marquee win on the road over Maryland, 2-1, for the program's first-ever win at on the road at Ludwig Field since the teams first met in 1960.
Wyse saw Jackson Temple pace the squad in goals (6), assists (4) and points 916) in his fifth season. Temple was named an All-Big Ten First Team selection while Matt Acosta followed with an All-Big Ten Second Team pick as well as Nick Collins as he earned a spot on the conference All-Freshman Team. Ola Maeland also brought some hardware back “On The Banks” as he was named to the 2023 Big Ten All-Tournament Team, scoring in the Quarterfinals against Penn State.
Wyse helped the Scarlet Knights make history in the fall of 2022, capturing the first Big Ten Championship in program history and first conference title since 1997 with a 3-1 win over Indiana. RU secured the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, the highest in program history and hosted all three rounds, bringing in record crowds (4,200+ for the title game). The championship win punched Rutgers' ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015 for the first trip under head coach Jim McElderry.
He also oversaw the team win multiple post season awards including a program-best eight Big Ten All-Conference Awards in 2022, including Player of the Year (MD Myers) and Co-Freshman of the Year (Cole Cruthers) for the first time in program history the Scarlet Knights have had two major award winners in the same season.
Wyse, along with the rest of the Scarlet Knights staff, was also named the United Soccer Coaches North Region Staff of the Year, the first staff award in program history.
In his debut season at Rutgers in 2019, the Scarlet Knights started 6-0-2 for the program's best opening to a season since 1985 and finished with the most wins in a season since 2015. Rutgers garnered a No. 22 national ranking in the United Soccer Coaches Poll on Sept. 24. Meanwhile, he guided his players to a Second Team All-Big Ten honor and two Big Ten All-Freshman Team accolades. The Scarlet Knights capped the season with six selections to the Academic All-Big Ten Team.
During his tenure, Wyse was a part of the Rams' run to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals in 2017 with the squad ranking as high as No. 11 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. Fordham concluded the year with a school-record 14 wins, which included tournament victories over St. Francis Brooklyn, No. 11 seed Virginia and a shootout win over No. 6 seeded Duke, before falling to No. 3 North Carolina. Under his guidance, eight individuals picked up postseason honors including five all-region selections from United Soccer Coaches, eight from the Atlantic 10 and two from the ECAC.
Also while on the sidelines with Fordham, the Rams captured the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship featuring a roster with three NSCAA All-Region honorees and six Atlantic 10 selections, as well as the 2014 Atlantic 10 title with three Rams picking up All-Atlantic 10 Team awards.
On the recruiting front, Wyse was responsible for bringing seven international footballers to the Bronx campus over the last five seasons who would go on to earn Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team honors. He has also been vital to the recruiting efforts in the tri state area.
Prior to joining the Fordham staff, Wyse coached with the Storm Soccer Academy serving as an assistant coach with the U15 boys Super Y League team and the Super Y League National Championship U17 boys team. He also has experience with the spring and summer camp and travel teams.
At the club level, Wyse has coached the Little Neck FC's U16-18 boys team and Downtown United Soccer Club (DUSC) U18 boys squad.
Wyse holds professional licenses, including a National B License (2010), the NCAA Advanced National Course (2009) and the NCAA National Course (2007).
A two-year letterwinner at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Wyse graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in 2002.
He and his wife, Sinead, have two sons, Darragh and Caden.
