Erin Neri joined Rutgers Athletics as the Associate Director of Communications in August 2022 and serves as the primary communications contact for men’s soccer, women’s basketball and women’s tennis.
Since joining Rutgers, Neri has helped lead communications and digital strategy for three Scarlet Knights programs she works with, overseeing media relations, social media, digital content, website management, statistical archives and storytelling efforts.
A native of Nutley, New Jersey, Neri previously spent two years at Towson University as an Assistant Director of Media Relations, working with women’s basketball, field hockey, women’s lacrosse, cross country/track & field and tennis. Prior to Towson, she spent two years with Penn State’s strategic communications department, where she served as the primary contact for men’s tennis while also working with several other Nittany Lions programs.
During the summer of 2019, Neri served as the Media Relations/Social Media intern for the Somerset Patriots, the now New York Yankees double-A affiliate in Bridgewater, New Jersey. She ran all social media accounts for the team as well as creating other original content.
Neri graduated from Penn State in 2020 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, along with minors in Political Science and Recreation, Parks and Tourism Management and certificates in Sports Journalism and Weather Forecasting.
