David Beck is in his first season at Rutgers as senior director of premium and annual fund. In his role, Beck provides leadership and support in the planning, execution and growth of premium seat contributions and the athletics’ annual fund. He is responsible for enhancing the premium experience to increase and retain R Fund membership.
Beck brings over 28 years of sales and customer service experience in the sports and entertainment industry, including 20-plus years of leadership experience. He has worked for iconic brands such as Madison Square Garden, Live Nation and the New Jersey Devils. He most recently served as director of premium and corporate hospitality partnerships at Madison Square Garden. He held this role for the past two years focusing on premium sales for The World's Most Famous Arena.
Prior to MSG, Beck held the role of chief ticketing officer in the Arena Football League, where he was responsible for managing premium sales, ticket sales, customer service and ticket operations. He served at the league level, previously overseeing these operations for Trifecta Sports & Entertainment and its three sports properties simultaneously (Philadelphia Soul, Albany Empire, Atlantic City Blackjacks).
Beck spent 17 years with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League, where he held multiple positions, including vice president of ticket sales and customer service, as well as director of corporate business development/premium sales. As vice president, Beck played a vital role in ticket sales, premium sales, customer service, customer retention and ticket operations. He was also instrumental in the launch and opening of the Prudential Center, which has become one of the nation’s premier sports and entertainment venues.
Beck also served as director of sales with Live Nation for four year, where he focused on premium sales and customer service/retention.
Beck graduated from Rutgers University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in sports management and history. Beck currently resides in Morganville, New Jersey, with his wife, Tracy, and their two children, Rachel and Matthew.
