Rutgers Wraps Up Play at ITA Regional Championships

BOSTON, MA – Several members of the Rutgers women’s
tennis team competed in the ITA Eastern Regional Championships on Saturday.
The lone representative for the Scarlet Knights in singles competition, senior Jennifer Hellier (Annapolis, MD) lost her match in the opening round to Melissa Nguyen of Columbia, 6-1, 6-1.
The doubles team of senior Carissa Sommerlad (Bradley Beach, NJ) junior Andrea Weckstein (Holmdel, NJ) fell in their singles match to Richmond’s Lindsay Cox and Courtney Klein, 8-6.
The ITA Regional Championships were the final event of the fall season for head coach Marian Rosenwasser’s squad. The women will open up the spring season, Feb. 6, 2003 at Lehigh.
