Weckstein Finishes 1-1 at ITA Regionals

BLACKSBURG, VA – Andrea Weckstein (Holmdel, NJ) was Rutgers’ lone representative in singles at the annual ITA Northeast Regional, hosted by Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Weckstein finished 1-1 in her draw while also participating in doubles competition with Katilin Link (Ontario, Canada)
Weckstein kicked off the tournament with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Natalie Rumpel of St. Bonaventure in the first round. She dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Stephanie Falcone of Brown in the next round.
In doubles, Weckstein and Link paired together and lost their first round match to a team from Boston College, 8-3.
Seventeen ITA Regional Championships for NCAA Division I men and women are taking place over the last two weekends of October at campuses throughout the country.
The 2003 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, the nation’s premier collegiate indoor tennis tournament, is the second of three national championship events for college tennis this season.
