PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers’ senior center Ray Pilch (Piscataway, NJ) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 2 Football Team.
Pilch has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 First Team for a second consecutive year. He earned All-District 2 second team honors in 2002.
A criminal justice major, Pilch owns a 3.309 grade-point average in his final season with the Scarlet Knights. A tri-captain and the team’s starting center, Pilch is now starting at his third position for Rutgers after joining the team as a walk-on in the spring of 2001. He has also started at fullback and tight end during his career.
Pilch has started 16-straight games dating back to last season and has solidified the offensive line in his first season at center.
All-District honorees are placed on the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration. Last season, Nate Jones was a First Team Academic All-America selection, the second in program history.
