Women's Tennis Falls to Brown, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, RI - Rutgers (5-2) won two of three doubles matches but could not pull out a victory over Brown, falling 5-2 to the Bears on Sunday, Feb. 29.
Kaitlin Link (Ontario, Canada) and Jill Markowitz (Forest Hills, NY) were victorious at second doubles (9-8) and Helen Magomedova (Brooklyn, NY) and Lauren Edelschein (Medford Lakes, NJ) won at third doubles (9-8) to give Rutgers the team doubles point.
In singles, Brown won five straight matches, although Magomedova lost a close 6-4, 6-3 decision and Andrea Weckstein (Holmdel, NJ) also dropped a 6-4, 6-3 match. Edelschein won at sixth singles when her opponent retired in the first set.
The Scarlet Knights return to action this weekend when it hosts Army (Friday, March 5 at 8:00 p.m.) and St. John’s (Sunday, March 7 at 1:00 p.m.)
