Jones Named ECAC Goalkeeper of the Week

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers sophomore Robyn Jones (Titusville, NJ) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Women’s Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced Sept. 14.
Jones, named the BIG EAST Conference Goalkeeper of the Week Sept. 13, made one save in recording her third shutout of the season in the 1-0 upset of No. 12 Santa Clara Sept. 10 at the Rutgers Classic. She also made three stops in the 2-1 double-overtime victory against Michigan State Sept. 12.
No. 24 Rutgers (4-2) will play its second ranked opponent in a three-match span, traveling to Gainesville, FL, to face the No. 9 Florida Gators (4-1-1) Friday, Sept. 17. Kickoff at Percy Beard Stadium (4,500) is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
