Rutgers Women's Tennis Falls to Brown, 7-0

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Once again battling injuries, the Rutgers women’s tennis team (4-5) was unable to overcome Brown on Sunday afternoon at the Busch Tennis Center in Piscataway.
Brown got out to a 1-0 lead after taking both doubles matches by identical 8-4 scores. The Scarlet Knights were forced to default at third doubles. Freshman Katrina Elder-Bush (Boston, MA) took the first set from Brown’s Amanda Saiontz, but ran out of gas in a close 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 loss. Senior Helen Magomedova (Brooklyn, NY) also lost a highly-competitive 6-4, 6-4 decision at fourth singles.
The Scarlet Knights return to action when it heads south to Florida to begin their Spring Break trip. RU will face Broward County Community College on Sunday, March 13, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, followed by a match against Lynn University on Monday, March 14, in Boca Raton, FL.
