Davis, Lefeged Collect Freshman All-America Honors

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Sporting News named Rutgers' Anthony Davis (Piscataway, N.J.) to its Freshman All-America First Team while Joe Lefeged (Germantown, Md.) earned Honorable Mention Freshman All-America accolades.
Davis has played in all 12 games for the Scarlet Knights in 2007, including seven straight starts at right guard.
In his seven games starting at right guard, Rutgers has averaged 204.4 rushing yards per game. RU averaged 173 rushing yards per game without Davis as a starter. The team has averaged 406.6 yards of total offense per game since Davis was inserted in the starting lineup. Davis has yet to allow a sack this season for the Scarlet Knights.
Lefeged has also played in all 12 games for Rutgers and has totaled 36 tackles on the season. He has 3.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries and two pass breakups on the season. He was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week Oct. 15 after a six-tackle, two-sack performance at Syracuse.
