Rutgers Women's Tennis Wins Battle Against UConn, 4-3

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers women's tennis team posted a 4-3 win over BIG EAST rival Connecticut on April 10 at the RU Tennis Complex.
The 4-3 decision was the ninth time this season that the Scarlet Knights have competed in a match decided by one point.
The Scarlet Knights (6-11, 3-6 BE) trailed 1-0 after doubles, as Katrina Elder-Bush (Boston, Mass.) and Katherine Arlak (Leonia, N.J.) recorded the lone win at the top slot, 8-2, over Christine Burek and Liz Dibbs.
In singles, Elder-Bush registered her sixth-straight win at first singles, defeating Burek, 6-0, 6-2. The victory was the 13th on the season for the junior. At the third slot, Arlak won a three-set battle over Jess Porter, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, while at the fifth position, Lauren Edelschein (Medford Lakes, N.J.) defeated Alli Campitiello, 6-1, 6-4. Freshman Christine Tran (Centreville, Va.) put the final point on the board for Rutgers, battling back from a set down and beating Dibbs, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.
RU will travel to Morgantown, W.V., on Friday, April 13, for two conference match-ups, first facing Pittsburgh at 12:00 p.m., followed by a contest against West Virginia on Saturday, April 14, at 10:00 a.m. to finish out the regular season.
