Anzivino Earns BIG EAST Weekly Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior back Jenifer Anzivino (Middletown, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday. Rutgers (10-3-1, 5-1-1) earned two shutouts over the weekend, defeating Louisville 1-0 (Oct. 10) before finishing in a scoreless tie with Cincinnati (Oct. 12).
Anzivino was a key figure on a defense that has shut out four consecutive opponents. After starting the season as a forward, she moved to the backfield with immediate success, as RU has recorded eight shutouts in 2008. Rutgers' 'D' has held opponents scoreless for 399 consecutive minutes.
RU remained in the national polls this week, falling one spot to No. 15 in Soccer America and moving up a spot to No. 22 in Soccerbuzz. The Knights are ranked No. 4 in the mid-atlantic regional poll by Soccerbuzz.
Rutgers concludes its season with a four-game road trip, starting with BIG EAST foe St. John's on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7:00 p.m.
