PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers University women’s tennis team, under the guidance of sixth-year head coach Ben Bucca, today announced that Michelle Green has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Scarlet Knights beginning in the fall of 2009. Green is ranked as a five star recruit, according to tennisrecruiting.net.
“We are thrilled to have Michelle join our team next year,” Bucca said. “She has extensive national playing experience which continues our trend of being able to recruit top nationally ranked players who also excel in the classroom to Rutgers.”
Green, rated the No. 68 player in this year’s recurring class, is currently the No. 1 player in the Girls 18’s in South Carolina. In 2007, she represented South Carolina in Fed Cup competition.
In the classroom, Green has maintained a 4.12 GPA in three years at Heritage Academy in Hilton Head, S.C.
