SKILLMAN, N.J. - The Rutgers University women's tennis team received Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic honors by maintaining a team GPA of 3.2 or greater during the 2008 season. Additionally, four Scarlet Knights received individual honors, having a 3.5 GPA or better.
The team, which was also honored by the NCAA with public recognition awards in their latest multi-year Academic Progress Rate scores, ended the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.402.
Caitlin Baker (Altoona, Pa.), Anela Dujsic (Mississauga, Ontario), Christine Tran (Centreville, Va.), and Amy Zhang (Plano, Texas) each received individual all-academic honors by maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA.
'This is another fitting tribute to last year's outstanding team,' said head coach Ben Bucca. 'This academic distinction for both the team and individuals represents the outstanding accomplishments that the team obtained not only on the tennis court, but also in the classroom.'
