PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women’s tennis assistant coach Alexandra Arlak has been selected as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Assistant Coach of the Year for the East Region.
“This honor confirms what we all know on the Rutgers women’s tennis team and that is, Alex is a great assistant coach,” said head coach Ben Bucca. “Alex just completed her third year and she has developed trust and respect with our players, providing energy and inspiration during both practices and matches.”
Arlak was a part of one of the most successful seasons in the program’s history in 2009. The squad ended the year with a 16-5 record and placed fourth at the 2009 BIG EAST Championships.
“I’m ecstatic to have all of my hard work and dedication to the Rutgers tennis program acknowledged,” said Arlak. “I’m especially happy to see RU’s name among the top programs in the country.”
