Rutgers Baseball Announces Annual Winter Hitting Clinic

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 21, 2011) - The Rutgers baseball program will hold its annual winter hitting clinic for high school players from Dec. 26-28 at the Rutgers Athletic Center. The clinic will feature intense instruction from the Rutgers Baseball coaching staff and players.
The three-day clinic will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. each day, with participants having the opportunity to receive instruction from legendary head coach Fred Hill and former All-Americans Glen Gardner and Darren Fenster. Everyone will have the opportunity to participate in live batting practice and drills. Each player will go through numerous drills and informational stations aimed to develop personal skills. Proper mechanics will be demonstrated, strategy will be discussed, and numerous repetitions will be practiced.
The hitting clinic is open to players currently in grades 8-12, and will include individual instruction along with advice from the veteran coaching staff and Rutgers players. Hill, who enters his 29th year at the helm of the Rutgers program in 2012, has seen 40 of his players move on to professional baseball since 1998. The veteran mentor became the 16th active Division I head coach to earn 1,000 victories, achieving the prestigious feat during the 2010 season.
Located inside the RAC, on the University's Livingston Campus in Piscataway, each member of the camp will enjoy the Scarlet Knights' winter home which features three full-length batting cages complete with pitching machines and several soft toss and tee stations.
Enrollment is $225 and space is limited to ensure a lower player to coach ratio. To register please download the registration form and send in with payment.
