PISCATAWAY, N.J. (September 16, 2011) - Two former Scarlet Knights - David DeJesus and Todd Frazier - are currently playing in the Major Leagues. ScarletKnights.com gives you an update of their progress as the season comes to a close.
After spending eight years as a starting outfielder for the Kansas City Royals, DeJesus was traded the Oakland Athletics last winter. This year DeJesus will earn $6 million and become eligible for free agency after the season. In his time with the Athletics thus far, DeJesus has played in 122 games with 96 hits, eight home runs and has a .232 batting average.
Meanwhile, Todd Frazier of the Cincinnati Reds has played in 34 games since being called up in July with 21 hits and six homers. He collected his first-career Major League hit with a single to right field in the bottom of the seventh in a game against the Atlanta Braves on July 22nd.
