
Tennis Signs Vanina Iordanova

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 25, 2014) - Rutgers tennis head coach Ben Bucca has announced the signing of Vanina Iordanova (Tampa, Fla.) to a national letter of intent to begin competing for the Scarlet Knights starting in the 2015-16 season.
"We are thrilled that Vanina will attend Rutgers next year and join our team," said Bucca. "She is an exceptional tennis player and student. Her skills will only build on the strong foundation of Rutgers tennis excellence on the court and in the classroom."
Iordanova, a product of Wharton High School, contends at the national level, having competed in the Orange Bowl and the Eddie Herr Championships. She has also competed at the National Clay Court and National Hard Court Championships. The Sunshine State native earned a third-place finish at the USTA 16 Zonal Team Championships for Team Florida. Iordanova also notched a seventh-place finish at the 2014 USTA National Championship in Mobile, Alabama. She is ranked 128th in the country by TennisRecruiting.net.
Academically, Iordanova ranks in the top four percent of her graduating class at Wharton. Due to her high academic standing, she received the honor of Commended Student Designation by the National Merit Program.
