Tennis Drops Regular Season Finale at IU

BLOOMINGTON, IND. (April 12, 2015) -- In its final regular season match in its inaugural year in the Big Ten, the Rutgers women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at No. 52 Indiana.
RU finished the season with a record of 6-14. Indiana improved to a mark of 14-7 with two contests remaining on the year.
The Hoosiers opened the day with victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spot to capture the team doubles point. With an advantage in singles action, IU recorded three consecutive wins to take the match.
Junior Mariam Zein (Sugarland, Texas) picked up the lone point for the Scarlet Knights with a victory at the No. 5 singles spot. Zein edged Carolyn Chupa, in the first set, 7-5, before closing out the matchup with a solid 6-4 win in the second. It marked her second singles victory in conference action.
