Tennis Concludes Successful Final Round of Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md.- Rutgers tennis captured two doubles victories to highlight its appearance at the Navy Blue and Gold Invitational Sunday afternoon in Annapolis , Maryland. Senior Farris Cunningham and freshman Jacqueline Cochrane captured the "B" flight final, while junior Lee Levy and freshman Kyra Yap secured the "C" flight final.
"We showed improvement from our tournament at the Brown Invitational," head coach Hilary Ritchie said. "We were especially great in doubles play. I was very pleased with how we competed."
Cunningham and Cochrane downed Navy, 6-2, while Levy and Yap produced a 7-5 win against Navy to corral the "C" flight final.
In singles play, Cochrane fell to Buffalo's Anna Savchenko, 6-2, 4-6 (2), in the "C" flight final, while Cunningham dropped her "D" flight final to Navy's Catalina Rico, 6-1, 6-2.
Rutgers returns to action Oct. 21-24 at the ITA Regional Championships in West Haven, Connecticut.
