PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Returning to New Jersey after a seven-game spring        break road trip, Rutgers baseball heads back to the road to play in-state opponent Rider in        a 3:30 p.m. Wednesday game at Sonny Pittaro Field. It will be the eighth consecutive        contest away from home for the Scarlet Knights and 16th true road game this season. The        action can be heard on 107.7 FM.

                SCOUTING RUTGERS
         The Scarlet Knights picked up a 3-4 record on their trip that made stops in Boca Raton,        Fla., Fort Myers, Fla., and Annapolis, Md., with three of the losses decided by one run.        Senior R.J. Devish (Beachwood,        N.J.) led the offense with a .400 average and a .484 on-base percentage during the        trek, while fifth-year senior Chris        Suseck (Flemington, N.J.) and junior Tom        Marcinczyk (Middlesex, N.J.) both drove in eight runs. RU averaged six runs        per game. On the mound, the staff worked to a 4.03 ERA, as redshirt junior Kyle Driscoll (Toms River,        N.J.), junior Christian Campbell        (Sayreville, N.J.) and freshman Dante        Scafidi (Washington Township, N.J.) all earned wins.
        
         Most recently, Rutgers collected a 10-3 victory over NJIT on Saturday at the United States        Naval Academy. Driscoll logged five shutout innings with seven strikeouts and sophomore        Milo Freeman (Millburn,        N.J.) knocked in three runs.
        
         For the season, Devish continues to rank among the best in the Big Ten statistically. He        is first in the league (13th nationally) with a .553 on-base percentage, tied for first        with 20 runs, tied for fourth with seven stolen bases, tied for fifth with 15 RBIs, sixth        with 13 walks and seventh with a .404 batting average. Marcinczyk is also up there, ranking        tied for first in the conference with 15 walks, second with 18 RBIs and tied for seventh        with three home runs. Suseck is currently riding a 15-game on-base streak and is hitting        .343 on the year.
        
         The Scarlet Knights are the league leader with 33 stolen bases so far, nine more than        second-place Penn State. That total ranks No. 27 in the country. Freshman Jawuan        Harris (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) leads the attack with 11 swipes to pace the Big Ten.        He is also tied for 15th in the conference with 14 runs scored.
        
         Freshman Serafino Brito (Oakland,        N.J.) is scheduled to make his third start of the season and team-leading ninth        appearance overall at Rider. The right-hander looks to bounce back after last week's outing        at Florida Gulf Coast, but did earn the win with six-plus innings in his first midweek        start against Lafayette. He has an 8-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio (16 strikeouts, two        walks) over 17.0 innings as a rookie. Rutgers has pitched to a 4.08 ERA this season as a        unit with 133 strikeouts and 72 walks.
        
         NOTABLE
         Rutgers is tied with Purdue among Big Ten teams for the most true road games played so far        this season at 15 … the Scarlet Knights have five road wins, matching last season's total …        the four teams RU has played in three-game weekend series this season have combined for a        52-26 record … the team is averaging 1.83 stolen bases per game, including four games with        at least four swipes … the catchers have combined for just one passed ball … the seventh        inning has been the most productive with 25 runs across … seven different Scarlet Knights        have hit one home run … the offense has reached double-digit hits six times and at least 10        runs in four games … five of the wins this season have come by five runs or more … RU is        6-0 when out-hitting opponents … starting pitchers have worked to a 3.66 ERA with an        average of 5.05 inning per start … Devish is hitting .471 with runners in scoring        position.
        
         SCOUTING RIDER
         A member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the Broncs have started off with two        wins in their first 16 games. The team took the middle meeting on the road in a three-game        road series at VMI last weekend. Jake Bender leads the offense with 17 hits, while Dayton        Mayberry has driven in seven runs. Freshman Brett Kosciolek is projected to make his third        start of the season on Wednesday. The right-hander has worked to a 3.97 ERA over 11.1        innings.

         THE SERIES
         Rutgers and Rider have met 66 times on the diamond, with the Scarlet Knights winning 41        times and in four of the last five encounters. Last season at Bainton Field, RU broke open        a close game with five runs in the fifth inning on the way to a 9-3 victory. The Broncs did        earn a win in the last meeting at Sonny Pittaro Field in 2013.
