                SCOUTING RUTGERS
Staying at home over the weekend for the first time this season, the Scarlet Knights continued their success at Bainton Field with two victories over Indiana, an NCAA Tournament qualifier last season. RU has won 11 of its last 13 at home dating back to last season.

Pitching helped lead the series win, with senior Howie Brey (Middletown, N.J.) tossing his fifth career complete in the opener. The left-hander struck out a season-high eight batters, walked none and was awarded Big Ten Pitcher of the Week for the efforts. Then in the middle game, redshirt junior Kyle Driscoll (Toms River, N.J.) worked six innings with two runs allowed, while classmate Max Herrmann (Rutherford, N.J.) dealt three scoreless frames to seal a 3-2 win.

At the plate, junior Christian Campbell (Sayreville, N.J.) returned to the lineup and provided eight hits and five RBIs over five games last week, including a decisive two-run double to put Rutgers ahead in the series-clinching game versus the Hoosiers. Senior R.J. Devish (Beachwood, N.J.), junior Mike Carter (Bloomfield, N.J.) and junior Tom Marcinczyk (Middlesex, N.J.) added seven hits apiece to the offensive attack last week.

Devish, who has a team-high 11 multiple-hit games, continues to pace the Big Ten with a .534 on-base percentage, which also ranks No. 13 nationally. The catcher also sits first in the league with nine times being hit by pitch, tied for second with 26 runs, tied for third with 19 walks, tied for fourth with 10 stolen bases and tied for sixth with a .393 batting average. Marcinczyk leads the team with four home runs and 23 RBIs, while fifth-year senior Chris Suseck (Flemington, N.J.) has knocked in 20.

The Scarlet Knights claim the top spot in the Big Ten with 53 stolen bases, also 14th-most in the country. Freshman Jawuan Harris (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) has 21 swipes to rank fifth in the nation and first in the conference. He has five games with multiple steals. Devish also has double-digit thefts with 10, while Marcinczyk has eight in as many attempts.

Freshman Serafino Brito (Oakland, N.J.) is scheduled to make his fifth start of the season against Fordham. The right-hander took a no-decision last week with three runs permitted over 3.2 innings versus Monmouth. He has struck out 20 and walked three in 10 appearances as a rookie.
