Larmour Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers field hockey freshman Katie Larmour was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. Larmour scored two goals in Rutgers win over Siena Sunday to earn the honor.
Larmour scored twice in Sunday's game, recording the first multi-goal game of her career. In seven games this season, The Belfast, Ireland native has three goals and two assists for eight points. She has started all seven games of her career in the midfield.
With the recognition for Larmour, Rutgers' has now had two consecutive Big Ten Freshmen of the Week. Nikki Santore was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week last Tuesday.
"We are thrilled that Katie is here with us at Rutgers," head coach Meredith Civico said. "She really has had a fantastic start to her career here and is very deserving of this award. Her impact both offensively and defensively has been immense. With back-to-back Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards, it's great to see this class achieving big things."
Rutgers' freshman class has combined for 11 goals and six assists for a total of 28 points, as well as 10 saves and one defensive save thus far. Four different players have combined for 20 games started this season.
