
Tennis Releases Spring 2018 Schedule

Scarlet Knights line up nine non-conference opponents and an invitational
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Oct. 16, 2017) – Rutgers tennis and head coach Hilary Ritchie announced the spring portion of the 2017-18 season on Monday, featuring a two-day invitational, nine non-conference dual matches, and the 11-match Big Ten slate.
The Scarlet Knights will break for 76 days following the final day at the Buffalo Invitational on Nov. 5. Rutgers begins 2018 with two days at the NJIT Invitational in nearby Newark on Jan. 20 and 21 before dual match season begins in earnest.
The first home date of 2017-18 will be played off-campus at the East Brunswick Racquet Club in a dual against Binghamton on Friday, Jan. 26 at 12:30 p.m. RU will also host Army (Jan. 31) and Seton Hall (Feb. 10) at EBRC.
The first road dual match of the year will be at Delaware on Feb. 4. Rutgers then embarks on a seven-match stint away from home spanning into conference play with visits to UConn (Feb. 17), Cornell (Feb. 18), Princeton (Feb. 21), Yale (March 3) and Georgia Southern during spring break in Orlando, Fla. On March 11.
The Scarlet Knights open 2018 Big Ten play on the road at the tail end of spring break at Wisconsin on March 16 and at Minnesota on March 18. RU also makes trips to Northwestern (April 1), Michigan State (April 14) and 2017 Big Ten Tournament runner-up Michigan (April 15).
Rutgers debuts outdoors at the Tennis Complex on Busch Campus, weather permitting, on March 24 in a Big Ten match against Maryland at 1 p.m. Other Big Ten opponents at home include Illinois (March 30), Nebraska (April 6), Iowa (April 8), Purdue (April 20) and Indiana (April 22).
