Scarlet Knights garner recognition for eighth consecutive year
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's soccer was named a College Women's Team Academic Award winner by United Soccer Coaches for the 2017-18 academic year, the organization announced Thursday.
The Scarlet Knights posted a team grade point average of 3.34 to receive the honor for the eighth consecutive year dating back to 2011. Rutgers has garnered academic honors from the organization 10 times in program history.
A total of 773 college teams (289 men, 484 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher to earn the honor. Both the RU men's and women's soccer teams earned the award, one of 191 schools with both their men's and women's programs recognized.
