Tennis Advances Four at Northeast Championships

WEST POINT, N.Y. - After the opening round of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships, the Scarlet Knights advance four singles to round two.
Two rounds will be contested on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. on the indoor courts and 10 a.m. on the outdoor courts. Kaplan and Jones will kick off the day for the Scarlet Knights inside of the Litchenberg Tennis Center, with Muzik and Fisher to follow outdoors on the Malek Courts.

SATURDAY 10/9 – 2 SINGLES (ROUND OF 64 AND 32)

Location: Indoors - Bottom half of singles draw
Outdoors - Top half of the singles draw
SUNDAY 10/20 – 2 DOUBLES, 1 SINGLES
Start Time: 10 a.m. (Singles followed by doubles)
Location: Outdoors
MONDAY 10/21 – QUARTERFINALS OF SINGLES, SEMIFINALS OF DOUBLES
Start Time: 10 a.m. (Singles followed by doubles)
Location: Outdoors
Tuesday 10/22 – SEMIFINALS AND FINALS OF SINGLES, FINALS OF DOUBLES
Start Time: 10 a.m. (Singles followed by doubles)

- Kat Muzik defeated Fairfield's Amanda Nowak (6-3, 6-3) and advances to face Jodie Lawrence-Taylor of UMass.
- Tess Fisher topped Oceane Garibal of St. John's (6-3, 7-5) and will meet Syracuse's Miranda Ramirez in round two.
- Sydney Kaplan edged out St. John's Milka Genkova (6-3, 7-5) and moves forward to face Yale's Caroline Dunleavy.
- After a first round bye, Sydney Jones will take on Binghamton's Samara Eisenberg.
