Tennis Edged by Indiana on the Road

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis was edged by Indiana, 5-2, on the road Saturday afternoon. The Hoosiers claimed the doubles point four singles wins to come out with the win over the Scarlet Knights.
DOUBLES PLAY
Freshmen duo Tess Fisher and Sydney Kaplan picked up the first doubles win at the No. 3 spot, cruising to a 6-0 victory over IU's Michelle McKarney and Somer Henry. It marked the fourth win for the pair overall and league action.
Indiana, however, countered with wins at the No. 2 and No. 1 spots to secure the team point.
SINGLES PLAY
Kaplan went on to add a singles win at the No. 4 spot, topping Jelly Bozovic by scores of 6-3, 6-4. It marked her fourth conference win and team-leading 11th triumph overall.
Junior Kat Muzik followed with a win at the No. 3 spot over Caitlin Bernard to balance the overall match score, 3-2. Muzik battled for the three-set win by scores of 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
The Hoosiers would go on to edge out the final two singles matchups for the win, as junior Jaci Cochrane lost a hard fought 7-6 (2), 6-7 (9), 10-7 match at the No. 6 spot.
UP NEXT
Rutgers travels to Purdue for its regular season finale on Sunday. The match time is set for 12 p.m. ET.
