IOWA CITY, IOWA – Rutgers football (1-1, 0-1) dropped its Big Ten Conference opener to No. 20 Iowa (2-0, 1-0), 30-0, Saturday afternoon at Kinnick Stadium.
Sophomore running back Isaih Pacheco recorded a team-high 67 all-purpose yards, including 36 yards on the ground. Linebackers Tyshon Fogg and Drew Singleton paced the defense with seven tackles apiece, while Rashawn Battle contributed a sack in the fourth quarter.
Junior punter Adam Korsak averaged 47.6 yards on 10 punts, with four of his attempts pinning the Hawkeyes within their own 5-yard line. His standout performance included a 69-yard punt, tied for the seventh-longest in school history, that was downed at the 1-yard line in the third quarter.
UP NEXT
Rutgers will have a bye week before it hosts Boston College on Saturday, Sept. 21 at SHI Stadium. The game will start at noon on Big Ten Network.
