Cross Country Returns to Action for Paul Short Run Friday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. ā Rutgers Cross Country returns to action following a nearly four-week hiatus when the Scarlet Knights compete at the 52nd annual Paul Short Run. Rutgers will return to the Goodman Campus course at Lehigh University in preparation for the 2026 NCAA Mid-Atlantic RegionalĀ Championship, which will be hosted at the same place.

The Scarlet Knights opened their season at the Lehigh Invitational on September 4, highlighted by team victories on both the men's and women's sides. Gavin Rossi led the men's squad with an individual first place finish in the 6k (18:17.6), while Micah Lawson followed closely to capture second place (18:17.9).

On the women's side, Lorena David secured an individual victory in the 6k (21:25.1) while Big Ten Watchlist honoree, Kelseigh O'Neil, finished second (21:46.9).

After nearly a month away from competition, the Scarlet Knights are gearing up for the season ahead. The team will use the Paul Short Run as an opportunity to continue enhancing race strategies and progressing toward the championship season.
