
Women’s Golf Second at Liz Murphey Collegiate

ATHENS, Ga. – Rutgers women's golf is second after round two of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Sunday in Athens, Georgia. Sophomore Judy Amano carded another one-under-par 71 to highlight action for the Scarlet Knights at the UGA Golf Course.
With one round left to play, RU is 12 strokes behind host Georgia, who leads the 16-team field with a one-over-par 577 (293-284). With its 13-over-par 589 (295-294), Rutgers is four strokes ahead of Florida Gulf Coast (+17). The Bulldogs' Trinity Beth leads the field with a nine-under-par 135 (66-69).
Amano is seven strokes behind Beth with her two-under-par 142 (71-71) and is sixth in the 89-player field. Amano is one of just seven individuals under par ahead of Monday's final round.
"Today was another solid round for us," said head coach Kari Williams. "Judy continued her good play and Grace bounced back nicely. We've had good stretches out here and just need to fight for every shot tomorrow."
Round 2 – Sunday, March 29
Weather: Sunny, Temps in the low-50s, 10-20 mph winds
Amano continued her strong play from the day prior, rolling in five birdies and an eagle on the 18th hole to move to sixth in the field. Amano has produced an eagle and 11 birdies across her first two rounds.
Junior Emily James (21st), sophomore Joline Truong (T27th) and rookie Elizabeth Ryu (T27th) are all within the top 30 after Sunday action. Ryu produced a two-over-par in the second round, adding three birdies and 11 pars.
Redshirt senior Grace Lu was the biggest mover in day two, jumping 18 spots thanks to her one-over-par 73 to sit in 49th. Junior Krystal Li is in 78th competing as an individual.
Round 1 – Saturday, March 28

Amano impressed on Saturday, rolling in six birdies and seven pars en route to a one-under-par 71. Her score has her sixth in the 89-player field heading into Sunday play.
"I'm really happy I got to play well today in such difficult conditions," Amano said. "This is another tough course, and it was great to bounce back after NC State. We put together a good team score today, and our goal is to just continue playing our games while remaining patient."
Truong also had a strong opening round, carding a one-over-par 73 to sit tied for eighth. After her runner-up finish at the City of Oaks Collegiate, James is tied for 14th with a two-over-par 74.
Ryu is tied for 37th, while Lu is tied for 67th to round out the team scorecard. Li is tied for 82nd competing as an individual.
