Women’s Golf Stays Local for Princeton Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's golf continues its fall campaign on Friday and Saturday at the Princeton Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by the Tigers, takes place at Springdale Golf Club.
The Scarlet Knights look to register another impressive showing at the Princeton Invitational after they delivered a runner-up finish at last year's event. Judy Amano (T5), Grace Lu (T7) and Joline Truong (T10) all secured top 10 results to help RU finish second with an eight-over-par 860 (285-289-286) in the 13-team field.
"We're definitely excited to be back at Springdale this week and it's always fun getting to play close to home," Lu said. "We had a good showing last year and we're looking to build on that. Springdale is a great course that's a good test for our games and we're looking forward to teeing it up."

Rutgers sends individuals to compete at the Doc Sauers Invitational from Oct. 11-12 in Delmar, New York. RU's final team event of the fall takes place at the Route 66 Invitational honoring Dale McNamara from Oct. 19-20 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

What to Know
- Rutgers finished fourth at the rain-shortened Mary Fossum Invitational in its last time out. Senior Emily James (eighth) and junior Judy Amano (10th) both carded top-10 results to help the Scarlet Knights to their best team finish of the fall at Forest Akers Golf Club.
- After leading the 81-player field courtesy of her opening-round 1-under-par 71 on Sunday, James tied for eighth for her sixth career top-10 finish. Amano jumped 17 spots on the leaderboard to tie for 10th, while redshirt senior Grace Lu and junior Joline Truong tied for 17th to give RU four scorers within the top 20.
- The Scarlet Knights led in par-4 scoring with a 4.23 average while sinking a tournament-best 21 birdies across their two rounds. James tied for third in the field with six birdies. Amano, Lu, and Truong all tied for fifth with five birdies apiece.
- Lu leads the team with 22 birdies across the program's first three fall tournaments. Amano produced the team's first eagle of the fall at the Cougar Classic.
