Bauer Track and Field Complex
Home of Rutgers Track and Field and Field Hockey
Located directly behind the Rutgers Athletic Center is the Bauer Track and Field complex. Dedicated in April 1996 and built for track and field, the facility boasts eight lanes, two shot put circles, four long/triple jump runways, two discus/hammer cages, two pole vault runways, two javelin runways and sprinting and hurdling areas on either side of the track.
In November of 2021, Rutgers hosted the Big Ten Field Hockey championships here for the first time. The event drew record crowds, including an attendance of 1,617 for the championship match between Rutgers and Michigan that was the largest crowd in all of Division I field hockey that season. As hosts, the Scarlet Knights won the university's first ever Big Ten Tournament championship.
The complex also hosted the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2004, 2005 and 2013, and multiple Metropolitan Outdoor Championships.

In 2009, the inner oval was renovated to feature field hockey games. Astro Turf 12 was installed and the Rutgers Field Hockey Team now calls the Bauer Track and Field Complex home. The respect AstroTurf has earned among field hockey players and coaches worldwide can be seen in the popularity of AstroTurf 12. Designed to meet FIH standards, it is a favorite for its playability, durability and low maintenance.
