Frankowska ends run at 2026 ITA All-American Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. and CARY, N.C. – Rutgers tennis wrapped up play at the Bulldog Invitational against Boston University on Sunday, Sept. 20 on the campus of Yale. Zuzanna Frankowska also completed her weekend at the 2026 ITA All-American Championships.

"This was a terrific first weekend of competition," said Head Coach Hilary Ritchie. "The team demonstrated tenacity and passion on the court. We have a solid base and these matches showed where we can improve. We have two weeks until the 49er Invite in Charlotte, so we'll focus on better transitions at net and aggressive doubles play. Overall, our staff is excited about where we're starting the fall season."

At the ITA All-American Championships, Frankowska ran into a tough opponent in fellow Big Ten member Hi'ilani Williams of Indiana. After a win in round one of the prequalifying draw, Frankowska saw her run end with a loss 6-1, 6-2.

The Scarlet Knights took three of the four doubles matches played against Boston University on day three of the Bulldog Invitational. Karina Jumazhanova and Mischka Sinclaire Goenadi paired for a decisive 6-1 victory over Gabriella Mikaul and Gabby Sadowski. Tina Chen and Naomi Karki won their doubles match for the second-consecutive day, defeating Vasilisa Borisova/Madison Liu 6-3.

Goenadi picked up a singles win, defeating Ellie Gyuro in straight sets 7-6 (4), 7-5. Also earning singles victories were Stella Schmitz, who topped Catherine Shen 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 and Cindy Zhou with a straight-set win over Vasilisa Borisova 6-4, 7-5.

Rutgers returns to action for the 49er Invite in Charlotte, North Carolina from Friday, Oct. 2 through Sunday, Oct. 4.
