Women's Lacrosse Announces Fall Schedule

PISCATAWAY, NJ - The 2006-2007 Rutgers women's lacrosse team will play six fall events, including two home games. The team's annual Alumnae Game is scheduled for Oct. 7.
The fall season begins Sept. 19 when Lehigh will travel to Rutgers for an 8:00 p.m. game. The Scarlet Knights will then be on the road for all-day events on Sept. 24 and Sept. 30 at Penn State and Hofstra. On Oct. 7, RU will host the Alumnae Game, its final home event of the fall season. Finally, RU will wrap up its fall schedule with two day-long events at Towson and George Mason on Oct. 15 and Oct. 21.
The Rutgers women's lacrosse team finished the 2005 season with a 7-9 record under the direction of head coach Laura Brand. The 2006 team welcomes back All-BIG EAST First Team member Katie Batiuk (Jackson, NJ) and All-BIG EAST Second Team honorees Anne Marchitello (Medford Lakes, NJ) and Katy Lawrence (Pylesville, MD). Eight newcomers will also join the team this fall, including six All-Americans.
