Rutgers Women's Lacrosse Announces 2008 Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers women's lacrosse team has announced its 2008 schedule, with their first match taking place at home on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, against three-time defending national champion Northwestern.
"Our non-conference competition is outstanding and will present many challenges throughout the season," said head coach Laura Brand. "Our goal is to compete at the upper level of Division One and we certainly have the schedule to do so."
Rutgers 2008 opponents include eight teams that finished in the top-25 last season. The Scarlet Knights, who themselves finished 2007 ranked No. 14 in the country, will face tough road contests against Princeton (March 5), Hofstra (March 19), and Denver (March 28 at Maryland). RU's conference schedule includes a road match against Georgetown (March 22) and two home games against Syracuse (April 12) and Notre Dame (April 20).
"The BIG EAST conference is one of the top conferences in the country and boasts outstanding programs," said Brand. "Our schedule has always been challenging and this year is no different."
