PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The BIG EAST Champion Rutgers baseball team not only received its seed and pairing in the NCAA Regional on Monday, the Scarlet Knights also entered a pair of national polls.
Rutgers was ranked No. 23 in the Baseball America Poll and No. 26 in the Collegiate Baseball Poll, which were both released on Monday. RU also received votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and USA Today/ESPN Top-25 poll.
It is the second time the Scarlet Knights (41-19) have appeared in the Collegiate Baseball National Poll this season, also earning the No. 29 spot in April 13's poll.
Rutgers has won four straight and 16 of its last 19 games while taking home the BIG EAST Regular-Season and Tournament titles. The 41 victories are one shy of the school record for wins in a season established in 2001.
Rutgers has been ranked nationally at one point in eight of the last 10 seasons, dating back to the 1998 campaign, when it finished the season ranked 30th.
RU, which earned the No. 2 seed in the Charlottesville Regional, takes on No. 3 seed Oregon State, the defending National Champions, on Friday at 8:00 p.m.
