Rutgers Baseball Announces Summer Camp Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Registration is now open for Rutgers baseball summer camps. The program will hold seven instructional camps under the guidance of the 2007 BIG EAST Champion coaching staff this June through August. Each camp, which is held on the team's state-of-the-art baseball field in Piscataway, is geared towards specific skill development. Enrollment is limited and interested players are encouraged to sign up early. WHAT: Knights Players Camp
WHEN: June 23-26, 9:00 - 2:30 WHO: Ages 9-12
INFO: Geared toward little leaguers that will emphasize all aspects of the game with members of the current Rutgers baseball team and coaching staff.
WHAT: Future Prospects Camp
WHEN: June 30 - July 3, 9:00 - 2:30 WHO: Players entering 7th and 8th grades
INFO: Geared towards middle school players and covers all aspects of the game, with specialized training for each position. Includes competitive games daily.
WHAT: Pitchers & Catchers Camp
WHEN: July 14 - 16, 9:00 - 12:00 WHO: High school players grades 9-12
INFO: Focus around the pitcher and catcher battery. Proper throwing mechanics and exercises to increase arm strength as well as velocity and movement are demonstrated for pitchers. Correct receiving mechanics and throwing and blocking techniques are stressed for catchers.
WHAT: Hitters Camp
WHEN: July 21-23, 9:00 - 12:00 WHO: High school players grades 9-12
INFO: Basic fundamentals of the swing are highlighted with a focused approach on exploiting your individual strengths for the type of hitter you are. Plenty of swings in drills focusing on a variety of situations are included in this clinic.
WHAT: Gold Glove Infielders Camp
WHEN: August 25-27, 9:00 - 12:00 WHO: High school players grades 9-12
INFO: Prepares you for the fall season, emphasizing all facets of infield play. Numerous drills stressing proper mechanics and strategies in various situations are used.
WHAT: Best of the Best Showcase Camps
WHEN: August 11-14 and 18-21
WHO: High school class of 2011 &2012 (August 11-14 only) and high school class of 2009 and 2010 (August 18-21 only)
INFO: Gain valuable exposure under the watchful eye of college coaches and professional scouts on the camp staff while learning, through seminars and individual instruction, the proper path to take to make it to the next level.
