Scarlet Knights will face Buffalo, Binghamton and St. John’s in hidden dual format
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 2, 2017) – Rutgers tennis wraps up the fall portion of its 2017-18 schedule on Friday through Sunday, Nov. 3-5 at the Buffalo Invitational indoors at the Miller Tennis Center.
The invitational will feature a hidden dual match format with the Scarlet Knights taking on Binghamton, St. John's and the host Bulls throughout the three days in upstate New York. This weekend will be the first of two meetings this season between Rutgers and Binghamton, with the second scheduled for Jan. 26 at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.
"We planned our fall schedule deliberately so we could get another invitational in before the winter break, so we're going to take full advantage of the time and really work on some fine tuning," said head coach Hilary Ritchie. "Doubles play has been a focus all fall season, and while we've seen some great things, this is the chance to find the next gear on play at the net, communication and speed."
LAST TIME OUT
The squad has not competed as a whole since Oct. 8 at the Navy Invitational, where sophomore Jaci Cochrane finished runner-up in the singles "C" flight and sophomore Kat Muzik won the singles "B" flight consolation draw. The Scarlet Knights sent five players to the ITA Northeast Regional Championships on Oct. 18-20 with senior Mingxiu Du, Cochrane and Muzik all making it to the Round of 64 in the main singles draw among the best talent in the region.
