
Track and Field Readies For Final Tune Up Ahead of Indoor Big Ten Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers track and field readies for its final tune up ahead of the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships with a trip to the Spire Institute on Saturday, Feb. 13. The Scarlet Knights will compete against various conference opponents prior to meeting again at the championships later this month.
Friday's field events will begin at 10 a.m. ET with track events starting at 11:30 a.m. ET. Saturday's action is set to begin at 11 a.m.
In its last time out, Rutgers saw two records broken on the women's side to highlight its outing at Penn State. Jasmine Van Note won the shot put and established a school record with a throw of 15.35m (50' 4.5"). Ka'Leila Abrille set a school record of her own in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.86m (12' 8") to place third.
The additional event winners on the women's side included Courteney Campbell in the high jump, Dennisha Page in the 60m, Reanda Richards in the 400m, and Stephanie Mauer in the 3,000m. The men were led by Taj Burgess with a first-place finish in the 400m and the 4x400m relay with teammates Nadale Buntin, Edwyn Pierre and Boaz Madeus. Semaj Willis rounded out the event titles for RU with a win in the high jump.
Up next, the Scarlet Knights return to the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, for the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships from Feb. 25-27.
