One More Day Remains on Saturday
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Rutgers swimming and diving is through two days of the Minneapolis Invitational. On Friday, the Scarlet Knights competed in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, 100 Yard Butterfly, 400 Yard IM, 200 Yard Freestyle, 100 Yard Breastroke, 100 Yard Backstroke and the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay.
In diving, RU was on the 3-Meter Board. Sephora Ford finished fourth with a 300.05, while Madilyn Varnum was sixth with a 282.55.
The 200 Medley Relay saw RU's team of Angelica Bath, Sofia Bartoloni, Anna Vlachou and Emilianna Gonzalez finish fourth in 1:40.53.
Anna Vlachou swam the 100 Yard butterfly in 53.29 in the finals, finishing ninth. That time was just off her season-best of 53.25 earlier this year, which was the fourth fastest time in school history.
In the 400 Yard IM, Ana Hazlehurst placed 10th in 4:19.42. Chiara Alberti was the fastest Scarlet Knight in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:52.45), while Sofia Bartoloni was the fastest from RU in the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:03.85. In the 100 Yard Backstroke, Angelica Bath had the top time at 54.96. RU's top team in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, swimming in 7:31.09, consisted of Ana Hazlehurst, Chiara Alberti, Megan Fox and Casey Zentz.
