Anderson Named to Ray's 8
Oct 05 | Football
PISCATAWAY, N.J. ā Rutgers football P Jakob Anderson is a member of Ray's 8, the Ray Guy Award announced Monday. The honor recognizes the top eight punters from last week's action.
In his third season with the Scarlet Knights, Anderson and the punt unit rank third in the Big Ten and 16th nationally with a net punting average of 43.71 yards. That includes no returns against, four fair catches and four downed inside the 20 on 14 attempts.
Most recently, Anderson pinned three inside the 20 with a long of 57 yards against Indiana. The Aussie previously completed a pass for 40 yards, and a first down, on a fake and blasted a career-long 70-yard punt versus USC.
This marks the first Rutgers recognition from the Ray Guy Award since Adam Korsak was selected as the winner of the 2022 Ray Guy Award as the top punter in the nation.
The Scarlet Knights are back in action Saturday, Oct. 17 at Maryland. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
