PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football (1-3) defeated Howard (1-3), 58-7, on Friday night at SHI Stadium. It marked the 100th career victory for head coach Greg Schiano leading the Scarlet Knights.

RB Antwan Raymond rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns, while WR KJ Duff hauled in five catches for 131 yards and a score. The performance pushed Duff Jr. past 2,000 career receiving yards and made him the first Scarlet Knight in program history to catch a touchdown in five consecutive games. Raymond also joined the record books, becoming the 17th player in school history to eclipse 2,000 career rushing yards. WR Vernon Allen III and WR Ben Black III each added receiving touchdowns, while RB Clay Thevenin scored on the ground. QB Dylan Lonergan finished 12-for-17 passing for 214 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

DB Bradlee Jones recorded his first two career interceptions. LB Moses Walker added five tackles with 2.5 for loss and a half sack. DL Keshon Griffin added a strip sack, with DL DJ Allen recovering the fumble.

PK Dane Pizzaro went 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, making from 29, 47 and 40 yards away.

FIRST QUARTER
Rutgers scored three touchdowns in the first quarter, with Lonergan finding Black III for a 16-yard touchdown reception three minutes into the game. Jones recorded his first interception of the night on Howard's following possession, which set up a 77-yard touchdown pass from Lonergan to Duff Jr. on the following play for a quick 14-0 lead.

The Scarlet Knights closed out the quarter with a six-play, 49-yard scoring drive, capped by an 18-yard touchdown run from Raymond with 4:28 before the first break. Howard added a touchdown on its following possession to make it 21-7 at the end of the quarter.

SECOND QUARTER
Raymond added his second touchdown of the night with a one-yard score up the middle, pushing RU's lead to 28-7 one minute into the quarter. Jones followed with another interception, jumping a pass deep in Bison territory to set up a 29-yard field goal from Pizzaro.

Raymond continued his strong night, finishing another scoring drive with a 13-yard touchdown run with 5:37 left in the half. Pizzaro closed the quarter with a career-long 47-yard field goal to give Rutgers a 41-7 lead heading into the locker room.

THIRD QUARTER
After the Scarlet Knights held Howard to a three-and-out on its first possession, RU marched down the field with a 10-play, 69-yard scoring drive. Thevenin muscled in a four-yard rushing touchdown, which made it 48-7 at the 8:03 mark of the third quarter.

Pizzaro added his third field goal of the night – this one from 40 yards out – to give RU a 51-7 advantage heading into the final quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER
QB AJ Surace led a quick four-play, 53-yard scoring drive, finding Allen III for a nine-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter.

NOTES
• Head coach Greg Schiano earned his 100th victory leading Rutgers football. He joins Kirk Ferentz (Iowa), Dabo Swinney (Clemson), Troy Calhoun (Air Force) and Kirby Smart (Georgia) as active FBS head coaches to win 100 games at their current school.
• Rutgers improved to 7-0 all-time versus Howard.
• Rutgers scored at least 50 points for the 10th time under Schiano.
• Rutgers recorded 268 passing yards and 266 rushing yards for a season-high 534 yards of total offense, allowing no sacks.
• Rutgers had a 100-yard rusher and 100-yard receiver in the same game for the second time this season, also happening at Boston College.
• Rutgers posted 41 points in the first half, its most in a half since posting 42 versus Norfolk State (second half) in 2015.
• Rutgers posted a season-high four sacks, improving to 36-7 under Schiano when reaching the mark.
• QB Dylan Lonergan totaled 214 passing yards and two touchdowns. It was his third game as a Scarlet Knight with at least 200 passing yards, eighth of his career, and sixth career game with multiple passing touchdowns.
• RB Antwan Raymond rushed for 140 yards to reach 2,136 career rushing yards. He becomes the 17th player in program history to reach 2,000 career rushing yards.
• Raymond reached triple digits for the third straight week and eighth time in his career. He became the 11th player in program history to amass eight career games with 100-yard rushing yards.
• Raymond matched his career high with three rushing touchdowns, also done in the 2024 Rate Bowl versus Kansas State. He is now ninth in program history with 25 career rushing touchdowns.
• WR KJ Duff totaled 131 receiving yards to reach 2,059 career receiving yards. He becomes the 11th player in program history to reach 2,000 career receiving yards.
• Duff Jr. reached triple digits for the third time this season and sixth time in career. He became the ninth player in program history with six such games.
• Duff Jr. hauled in a touchdown pass for the fifth consecutive game dating back to last season, the first player in program history to achieve the feat.
• DB Bradlee Jones recorded two interceptions, the first two of his career. It was the second game of the season a Scarlet Knight had multiple picks, also done by LB Moses Walker at Boston College.
• DL Keshon Griffin recorded a strip sack, recovered by DL DJ Allen.
• PK Dane Pizzaro went 3-for-3 on field goals, the first three makes of his career.
