PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football wraps up a three-game homestand at SHI Stadium on Saturday by hosting No. 6/5 Indiana as part of Homecoming & Family Weekend on campus. The game is presented by RWJBarnabas Health and is set for an 8 p.m. kickoff on Big Ten Network.
"The Blackout is Back." Fans are encouraged to wear black, arrive early and be in their seats by 7:30 p.m. for the return of "Light Up The Knight," a stadium-wide, fully integrated pregame fan experience. Immediately following the arrival of the Scarlet Knight and his horse "Excalibur," the entire stadium will unite in a synchronized light show powered through the Scarlet Knights App (download now) with a 360-degree fireworks show. Gear up with special Blackout merchandise available at the Rutgers Team Shop. The first 8,000 students in attendance will receive a Blackout t-shirt.
Stay tuned throughout the night as The Marching Scarlet Knights and Dance Team will perform "Light-Up" shows with guest appearances from alumni.
The 2026 Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame class will be inducted this weekend and honored on the field at halftime. The group includes Kahleah Copper (women's basketball), Amy Lewis (field hockey), Gabrielle Farquharson (women's track & field) and Steve Rammel (men's soccer).
Members of the undefeated 1976 Rutgers football team will be in attendance, a season that saw RU lead the nation in scoring defense (7.6), total defense (179.2) and rushing defense (83.9), holding eight opponents under 10 points with four shutouts. A commemorative merchandise collection featuring The Perfect Season artwork, created to honor the 1976 undefeated Scarlet Knights and a nod to the front of the program after their 11-0 run, is available for purchase.
The Rutgers Boardwalk, presented by Visit New Jersey, highlights the pregame festivities around SHI Stadium. The fun on Scarlet Knight Way begins at 4 p.m. and is free for all fans to enjoy. Rutgers Athletics is proud to announce the launch of R Guest Services, a new game day unit dedicated to providing exceptional support and assistance to fans attending Scarlet Knights sporting events. R Guest Services has been established to enhance the overall fan experience by serving as a visible, approachable resource throughout athletic venues on game day. Team members will be stationed strategically across venues to answer questions, provide directions and information, assist with guest needs and respond to customer concerns in real time. A new helpline will be available to fans to report issues and receive assistance in venue when they text "KNIGHTS" to 69050 on game days. The R Guest Services staff can also be reached via email at guestservices@scarletknights.com.
Fans will see an improved entry process at SHI Stadium with additional screening and ticket scanners throughout. Visitors will be directed to access optimal gates. Through the feedback received from postgame surveys completed by season ticket holders, fans and guests, the following adjustments will continue to remain in place:
• Fans are permitted to enter stadium gates with an approved bag.
• All students must enter the stadium through the South Gate (G&H).
• A full list of approved bag sizes and dimensions is available here. An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.
• Lockers for a $12 fee are located in Athletes Glen across from North Gate (C&D) and South Gate (G&H).
Fans are advised to arrive early to ensure a smooth entry into the stadium before kickoff. The walk-through weapons detection system, familiar to spectators who have attended other events in the region, does not require individuals to empty their pockets to enter. Those attending the event are asked to follow the instructions of public safety personnel.
Third-party experts Populous and WSP conducted an extensive review of traffic patterns and parking, and pedestrian flow last season. As a result of those findings, fans will see an improved process for ingress and egress at the parking lots and gates at SHI Stadium. Traffic flows have been modified to direct vehicles into the most optimal routes for respective parking lots when leaving the stadium postgame.
Parking lots are set to open five hours prior to kickoff. Game day lots at Jersey Mike's Arena cost $32 per car (tax included). Johnson Park is no longer a parking option.
Rutgers will operate a courtesy shuttle on the Busch campus to serve fans parking in the outer lots. Shuttle bus pickup begins three hours before kickoff between the Purple and Black Lots on the corner of Brett Road and Bartholomew Road, and it will drop fans off near Athletes Glen. The shuttle will run for one hour following the game. Rutgers will continue to provide ADA shuttle service as in years past with pickup locations at Jersey Mike's Arena, the Busch Student Center and Lot 53. Click here for more information on complimentary shuttles available on game day. Additionally, ridesharing apps offer fans another safe and reliable option to travel to and from SHI Stadium. The Light Blue Lot (Taylor Road, Piscataway NJ 08854) is designated as the drop-off and pick-up location on game day.

OFFENSE
• Kirk Ciarrocca is in his fourth season back as Rutgers' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2026. Ciarrocca, who has over 30 years of coaching experience (22 as an offensive coordinator), previously served on head coach Greg Schiano's staff for three seasons, winning two bowl games from 2008-10. He has been selected as a semifinalist for the Broyles Award and coached 29 players who had their name called in the NFL Draft (six in the first round). Ciarrocca has mentored a first or second team All-Big Ten running back each of the past four seasons, as the Scarlet Knights are the only power conference program to feature a 1,200-yard rusher each of the past three seasons. In 2025, the RU offense produced three All-America selections.
• QB Dylan Lonergan has thrown for 708 yards and seven touchdowns in three starts on the season.
• RB Antwan Raymond owns 2,136 career rushing yards on 422 carries, including eight games with at least 100 yards. The Canadian has 25 career rushing touchdowns, ninth most in program history.
• WR KJ Duff owns 116 career receptions for 2,059 yards and 15 touchdowns. The New York native has recorded a receiving touchdown in a school-record five consecutive games dating back to last season, totaling seven overall through four games. The RU school record for receiving touchdowns in a season is 10.
DEFENSE
• Travis Johansen is in his first season as Rutgers' defensive coordinator in 2026. Leading South Dakota to the FCS Playoffs quarterfinals in his first season as head coach in 2025 and previously winning a national championship at Grand View, the Minnesota native has directed six top-10 defenses in bringing 14 years of defensive coordinator experience to New Jersey. Johansen has produced 16 defensive players who have gone on to be drafted in the NFL, signed as a free agent or received camp invites in his coaching career.
• Rutgers held Howard to nine first downs, 184 yards of total offense, 3-for-11 on third down and forced three turnovers.
• DL Rondo Porter leads the defensive line with 12 tackles through four games, including 2.5 for loss.
• LB Moses Walker recorded two interceptions and a sack at Boston College and leads the team with 3.5 tackles-for-loss on the season.
• DB Chris Joines leads the team with 20 tackles this season, while DB Kaj Sanders has totaled 119 career tackles.
SPECIAL TEAMS

VERSUS INDIANA
• Rutgers and Indiana will meet for the 11th time, sixth time in New Jersey and for the first time since 2023. The series is tied at five wins apiece, with the Scarlet Knights having won the last three matchups.
• Rutgers clinched bowl eligibility with a 31-14 road win at Indiana in 2023, the last meeting in the series. Rutgers rushed for a Big Ten school record 276 yards, led by 143 by Gavin Wimsatt and 109 from Kyle Monangai. On the opening play of the second quarter, Shaquan Loyal blocked an IU punt, which Eric Rogers scooped up and returned 17 yards for a touchdown. Wimsatt sealed the win with his third rushing score in the fourth quarter, an 80-yard dash.
• In 2022 at SHI Stadium, Rutgers rallied from a 14-0 deficit to score 24 unanswered points in a 24-17 win on Homecoming. The defense allowed 91 yards on the first Indiana drive, but permitted just 181 on the last 12 drives with only three points against. The Scarlet Knights limited the Hoosiers to 2-for-12 on third down. Rutgers held the ball for 38:53. That included holding the ball for 13:45 in the third quarter compared to 1:15 by Indiana. Samuel Brown V rushed for 101 yards on 28 carries. DB Christian Braswell recorded an interception on four passes defended. He returned the pick 12 yards for a touchdown.
• In 2021 in Bloomington, Rutgers rushed for five touchdowns and recorded six takeaways to top Indiana on the road, 38-3.
• In the 2015 meeting in Bloomington, Rutgers tied its school record with a 25-point comeback in a 55-52 victory that featured 1,223 combined yards of total offense. The 55 points are the most scored by Rutgers in a Big Ten game since joining the conference. Rutgers rallied for 28 unanswered points to end the game, as Kyle Federico hit a 26-yard field goal as time expired.

Ciarrocca has mentored a first or second team All-Big Ten running back each of the past four seasons, as the Scarlet Knights are the only power conference program to feature a 1,200-yard rusher each of the past three seasons. In 2025, the RU offense produced three All-America selections.
• QB Dylan Lonergan has thrown for 708 yards and seven touchdowns in three starts on the season.
• RB Antwan Raymond owns 2,136 career rushing yards on 422 carries, including eight games with at least 100 yards. The Canadian has 25 career rushing touchdowns, ninth most in program history.
• WR KJ Duff owns 116 career receptions for 2,059 yards and 15 touchdowns. The New York native has recorded a receiving touchdown in a school-record five consecutive games dating back to last season, totaling seven overall through four games. The RU school record for receiving touchdowns in a season is 10.
DEFENSE
• Travis Johansen is in his first season as Rutgers' defensive coordinator in 2026. Leading South Dakota to the FCS Playoffs quarterfinals in his first season as head coach in 2025 and previously winning a national championship at Grand View, the Minnesota native has directed six top-10 defenses in bringing 14 years of defensive coordinator experience to New Jersey. Johansen has produced 16 defensive players who have gone on to be drafted in the NFL, signed as a free agent or received camp invites in his coaching career.
• Rutgers held Howard to nine first downs, 184 yards of total offense, 3-for-11 on third down and forced three turnovers.
• DL Rondo Porter leads the defensive line with 12 tackles through four games, including 2.5 for loss.
• LB Moses Walker recorded two interceptions and a sack at Boston College and leads the team with 3.5 tackles-for-loss on the season.
• DB Chris Joines leads the team with 20 tackles this season, while DB Kaj Sanders has totaled 119 career tackles.
SPECIAL TEAMS
• Rutgers has blocked 76 kicks (46 punts, 17 field goals, 13 extra points) under head coach Greg Schiano, including three blocked punts returned for touchdowns last season.
• PK Dane Pizzaro has converted all three field goal attempts and all 18 extra points this season.
• P Jakob Anderson has forced a fair catch on 48-of-90 career attempts with 13 punts of at least 50 yards and 26 downed inside the 20. He completed a pass for 40 yards on a fake punt against USC.
• PK Jack Scullion has booted 84-of-161 (52.1 percent) career kickoffs for a touchback.
VERSUS INDIANA
• Rutgers and Indiana will meet for the 11th time, sixth time in New Jersey and for the first time since 2023. The series is tied at five wins apiece, with the Scarlet Knights having won the last three matchups.
• Rutgers clinched bowl eligibility with a 31-14 road win at Indiana in 2023, the last meeting in the series. Rutgers rushed for a Big Ten school record 276 yards, led by 143 by Gavin Wimsatt and 109 from Kyle Monangai. On the opening play of the second quarter, Shaquan Loyal blocked an IU punt, which Eric Rogers scooped up and returned 17 yards for a touchdown. Wimsatt sealed the win with his third rushing score in the fourth quarter, an 80-yard dash.
• In 2022 at SHI Stadium, Rutgers rallied from a 14-0 deficit to score 24 unanswered points in a 24-17 win on Homecoming. The defense allowed 91 yards on the first Indiana drive, but permitted just 181 on the last 12 drives with only three points against. The Scarlet Knights limited the Hoosiers to 2-for-12 on third down. Rutgers held the ball for 38:53. That included holding the ball for 13:45 in the third quarter compared to 1:15 by Indiana. Samuel Brown V rushed for 101 yards on 28 carries. DB Christian Braswell recorded an interception on four passes defended. He returned the pick 12 yards for a touchdown.
• In 2021 in Bloomington, Rutgers rushed for five touchdowns and recorded six takeaways to top Indiana on the road, 38-3.
• In the 2015 meeting in Bloomington, Rutgers tied its school record with a 25-point comeback in a 55-52 victory that featured 1,223 combined yards of total offense. The 55 points are the most scored by Rutgers in a Big Ten game since joining the conference. Rutgers rallied for 28 unanswered points to end the game, as Kyle Federico hit a 26-yard field goal as time expired.
• Rutgers won the first game of the series in 2014 by the score of 45-23.
• Rutgers has two players on the roster from the state of Indiana: DL DJ Allen (Leo) and TE Kam Anthony (Fishers).
