After Maryland opened the scoring just over three minutes into the contest, Amer Lukovic delivered the equalizer in the 19th minute, heading home a cross from Dan Karsten following a short corner kick.Ā

The teams remained deadlocked at halftime, with Rutgers applying consistent pressure and holding an advantage in shots and corner kicks. The match stayed even through much of the second half before the Terrapins scored the game-winner with eight minutes remaining. The Scarlet Knights pushed for a late equalizer, but William Pierce's attempt was turned aside as the TerpsĀ held onĀ for the victory.Ā Ā
