Apr 22 | Softball
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers softball took care of business in its final mid-week nonconference contest as sophomore Kassandra Gewecke tossed a no-hitter, giving up only one walk, in the Scarlet Knights' 10-0 run-rule victory in an in-state battle with Seton Hall.
Gewecke was holding down a perfect game until allowing a walk in the top of the fifth.
The RU bats, meanwhile, collected runs in three of its four innings at the plate, amassing 10 hits, including home runs from Mia Mitchell and Etta Garofalo.
The win upped the Scarlet Knights' mark to 23-25 on the year heading into its final home weekend with the Scarlet Knight Classic.

With two aboard, Coleman added in her fourth RBI of the afternoon on a single up the middle. The throw into the plate was not in time but gave time for the Scarlet Knight base runners to advance. The throw to second to try and stop Coleman was off its mark and gave the opening for Osborne to score, giving RU a 9-0 advantage. Coleman went on to score the 10th and final run of the game off Stephanie Kraska's single up the middle.
