
Field Hockey’s Ajai Dhadwal to Compete at FIH Nation’s Cup

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers field hockey assistant coach Ajai Dhadwal will compete for Team USA at the upcoming FIH Hockey Nation's Cup. The event will be held on June 11-20 in Cape Town, South Africa.
Dhadwal enters the event with 146 career caps, one of the most experienced veterans on Team USA and with experiences as the team's captain. He has competed multiple times previously at the Pan Am Cup. Dhadwal has earned 13 medals with team USA, including four golds. Recently on the international level, Dhadwal competed at the 2025 Pan American Cup, Can Am Indoor Tournament, at the FIH Men's Nation's Cup in Oman and in the Hockey World Cup Qualifiers.
Dhadwal initially joined the Rutgers field hockey coaching staff in 2017, shortly after competing in that year's Outdoor Pan Am Cup. He was on the coaching staff through the team's Big Ten Tournament Championship in the fall of 2021. He rejoined the coaching staff in 2024 for his second stint on the RU bench.
