Katie Larmour to Play in FIH Hockey World Cup with Team Ireland

Event Begins August 16 in Belgium
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers field hockey alumn Katie Larmour was added to the Team Ireland Squad for the upcoming FIH Hockey World Cup. Larmour and Team Ireland will compete in Wavre, Belgium in one of the biggest international field hockey tournaments.
Larmour has recently made her mark on the international stage with Team Ireland, initially earning selection last summer. She continued to compete at events such as the EuroHockey Championship and the FIH Pro League and World Cup Qualifiers
Ranked 12th in the world, Ireland will be in Pool C and will start their competition on August 16. Their pool play will include matches against Spain (World No. 6, August 16th, 2:30 PM Eastern Time), New Zealand (World No. 10, August 18th, 5 AM Eastern Time) and Belgium (World No. 3, August 20th at 3:30 PM Eastern Time). Ireland needs to finish in the top-two in its pool to advance to Pool E for a shot to play in the semifinals or otherwise will progress to Pool H for final classification matches.
Larmour played at Rutgers from 2016 to 2021. Over that time, she was a fixture in the team's midfield, playing in 86 games (83 of them starts) and scoring 17 goals with 18 assists for 52 points, including six game-winning goals. She ranks in the top-15 in program history in both assists and points. Larmour was Rutgers' Headley-Singer Award winner in 2022. She was a two-time All-American, reaching First Team in 2021, a four-time All-Region selection (three times on the First Team) and a three-time First Team All-Big Ten selection. In 2019, she was a member of the Big Ten All-Tournament team, and in 2021, she was a key piece in leading RU to the Big Ten Tournament championship. She was also a First Team All-ECAC selection, multi-time Werblin Award winner and a team captain.
