Dr. Andrew Billups earned his doctorate from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University and is passionate about helping individuals perform at their bestāsocially, emotionally, academically, and athletically. Dr. Billups specializes in helping children, adolescents and young adults navigate life transitions and improving social, emotional and academic functioning.
With an integrative, warm, collaborative and goal-oriented approach, Dr. Billups incorporates techniques fromĀ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Ā to help clients gain better insight into how their choices affect their thoughts and emotions. He utilizesĀ Mindfulness & Acceptance-Based StrategiesĀ to support emotion regulation and increase enjoyment of the present moment. When working with athletes he incorporatesĀ Personalized Performance Enhancement Techniques.
As a New Jersey-certified school psychologist, Dr. Billups has extensive experience supporting people of all ages reach their social, emotional, behavioral and academic goals. As aĀ sport psychologist at Rutgers, he has expertise in helping high performers develop mental resilience, focus, and peak-performance strategies.
