
Rutgers Women's Soccer Earns NSCAA College Team Academic Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (December 12, 2011) - Rutgers women's soccer was named a recipient of the 2011 NSCAA College Team Academic Award, the organization announced. The Scarlet Knights were one of 571 women's teams honored, while Rutgers was one of 157 schools to have both its men's and women's programs recognized.
To receive the NSCAA Team Academic Award, the squad must have compiled a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Earlier this year, center back Shannon Woeller (Vancouver, BC, Canada) was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Second Team for maintaining a 3.97 GPA in exercise science.
The Scarlet Knights finished the season with an 8-8-3 record and made their league-leading 12th-straight appearance in the BIG EAST Tournament.
