Tennis Falls to No. 25 Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – Midway through a seven-game road swing, Rutgers tennis fell to No. 25 Princeton, 7-0, on Wednesday night at the Jadwin Gymnasium.
The Scarlet Knights dropped to a record of 4-3, while the Tigers improved to 8-1.
After Princeton claimed the doubles point for an early 1-0 lead in the match, sophomore Kat Muzik opened singles action with a strong first set at the No. 3 spot to return some energy to RU. Muzik topped the Tigers' Nicole Kalhorn, 6-3, in the first set before falling by slim margins of 7-5 and 10-7 in the following two.
Senior Mingxiu Du also put up a fight at the No. 1 singles position, but fell to Katrine Steffensen by a score of 6-2, 7-6 (3).
Up next, the Scarlet Knights take a short hiatus before returning to the road for a match at Yale on Saturday, March 3.
